Chris Harrison Reportedly 'Still Bitter' After Bachelor Exit
Sarah Parker Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison has been replaced by Jesse Palmer and reportedly isn't taking it well. He is "still bitter" over his exit.
Former The Bachelor host Chris Harrison is reportedly still bitter about leaving the franchise and being replaced by former star Jesse Palmer. Chris previously held the position for 19 seasons before he was forced to exit the show after defending a contestant's racist past. But the former host is doing just fine: Chris reportedly squeezed a 10 million dollar settlement out of The Bachelor in exchange for his retirement. So it's not all bad.
Chris' Bachelor empire came crashing down during Matt James' historic season. He rushed to the defense of Matt's current girlfriend Rachael Kirkconnell after photos resurfaced of her attending an Old South Antebellum-themed party in 2018. The pressure from fans and former contestants to fire the long-time host became too much for the franchise and Chris to handle: His 2-decade long journey with The Bachelor came to an end. For The Bachelorette seasons following his exit, Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe were chosen to host the show. Now, for the first Bachelor season in the post-Chris era, Jesse has taken the reins and replaced the 50-year-old as host. This isn't Jesse's first time around the block either, the new host led his own season of The Bachelor in 2004.
While Bachelor Nation has welcomed Jesse with open arms, Chris is "still bitter about the whole mess." According to a source from OK! magazine, "He still feels like he built The Bachelor from the bottom up and didn’t want to leave.” The OK! source added, “Chris has no problem with Jesse personally, but it kills him because everyone is falling over Jesse like he never existed. In his view, Jesse is getting all the glory based on his hard work!” Since the new host has been "knocking it out of the park," Chris is allegedly "green with envy."
The past seasons of The Bachelor, Bachelorette, and Paradise have proven the show is still successful without Chris. It seems the former host is salty that 'his' iconic Bachelor lines can be delivered by almost anyone. Chris might be shunned from Bachelor Nation, but rumor has it that won't stop him from getting booked from future projects. With his pockets lined with millions and a potential rival show in the works, Chris has other things he can focus on besides reminiscing about his glory days on The Bachelor.
