Ludwig's Subathon Twitch Stream Ends an Entire Month Later
Amelia Brooks Ludwig's long-lasting Twitch subathon has come to an end following a massive month long stream that was driven by the streamer's subscribers.
Ludwig's long-lasting Twitch stream has met its end. The streamer has been hosting one of the longest streams the platform has ever seen, although it's not the absolute longest. One of the longest-running streams is well over 1000 hours, meaning that camera was always running for over an entire month. Ludwig's stream came to a close after almost a month.
Ludwig owes the longevity of this stream mostly to his subscribers. The more people that subscribed to Ludwig's Twitch stream, the more time was added to a timer that would eventually expire and result in the end of the stream. Ludwig's stream remained in its final hour for several days as a result of support from his subs. Ludwig's antics have raised questions about the ethics of Twitch streams, as sitting in front of a camera for a month can't be healthy and could set a negative precedent for those who want clout.
Ludwig's stream came to a misty-eyed conclusion after 31 days, raising millions of dollars in the process. After the marathon's conclusion, Ludwig could be seen on Twitter thanking his subscribers for joining him. The streamer won't be keeping all of that money, as he's vowed to donate it to charity, pay his mods who have been keeping the chat active and in line while Ludwig sleeps, and of course, he has to pay taxes. The streamer ended with over 280,000 subscribers and the number was rapidly rising as the stream faded to black. The stream almost came to an end much such sooner on a couple occasions, as the stream once came down to a single second, only to be saved by a viewer gifting several subscriptions.
At one point, the influencer made a lucrative deal with his audience. After seeing that the stream was in danger of ending, Ludwig matched thousands of subscribers in a 10 minute period, allowing the timer to extend by almost a full day. Twitch's new star will take a break over the weekend following the extensive stream, but will return on Monday. Ludwig's stream consisted largely of the streamer just hanging out, talking to his viewers, frequently in the tens of thousands, so it wasn't particularly anything too insane, but it was still an exciting ride, and a huge time commitment.
Not only did the streamer raise millions of dollars, with plans to donate some of it, but Ludwig also topped Ninja's sub count in the stream's final hours. This makes Ludwig the most subbed streamer on Twitch and possibly one of the highest-earning streamers on the platform, largely because he did just one massive livestream.
