10 Invasion Of The Bee Girls: 5.0 (1973)
Invasion of the Bee Girls tells the unique story of a small town in California with a strange problem. When Delbert Mosley (Billy Campbell), a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, gets fired, he goes out on his own and finds an old camera at a yard sale. Mosley discovers the camera still has film in it and is shocked at what he sees.
The film reveals a man being abducted by aliens and enlists a newspaper’s help to debunk what he saw. When the newspaper makes a mockery of him, he confronts the president but ends up in jail instead. It’s there where he meets a man named Jailbird (Billy Bob Thornton) instead who believes in UFOs. When a young woman confronts the men claiming her father was the one in the pictures, they all go down a wormhole of the truth and if aliens are out there.
8 Split Second: 6.2 (1992)
Sex and the City’s Kim Cattrall stars in Split Second, a set in 2008, and centers on a world that has gone through a global warming disaster. After the polar ice caps have melted and the world is left covered in water, another enemy has set its sight on London, and it isn’t human.
After a policeman named Harley Stone (Rutger Hauer) finds that something has killed his partner, he finds the killer. When he realizes it’s a giant alien creature, he finds out that his girlfriend Michelle (Cattrall) is in trouble, and his inner demons don’t look so bad.
7 Evolution: 6.1 (2001)
Evolution is a sci-fi comedy produced by Ivan Reitman, who is also the original Ghostbusters producer. When a meteor plummets towards Earth, two college professors are tasked to check out the contact site.
The professors discover foreign organisms, and the government swiftly takes over. The microorganisms start to evolve and turn into something dangerous and threatening to the area and the entire planet. Starring David Duchovny, Julianne Moore, Ted Levine, and Seann William Scott, Evolution is not a movie to miss.
6 The Man Who Fell To Earth: 6.7 (1976)
The late David Bowie stars as Thomas Jerome Newton, an alien who comes to Earth for water to save his planet. To get back to his world, he decides to create a tech company to fund the trip. In the process, he meets a woman named Mary-Lou (Candy Clark).
She quickly falls for him, and in the process, Newton realizes how cruel the Earth is and the art of business. The Man Who Fell To Earth is one of Bowie’s first major roles in the movie industry, after transitioning from music.
5 Super 8: 7.0 (2011)
J.J. Abrams is known for his mysterious TV series, Lost, and in 2011, he released one of his best scripts yet; the sci-fi drama Super 8. Set in the year 1979, a group of kids witnesses a trash crash while making a movie. After talking it through, they realize the impact might’ve not been an accident.
Unusual disappearances begin happening in the small Ohio town; while Deputy Jackson Lamb (Kyle Chandler) begins investigating the incidents, he, and along with the kids, realize it might be something more significant and out of their control.
4 Galaxy Quest: 7.3 (1999)
In 1999, the alumni cast of the soap opera Galaxy Quest was brought together when a group of aliens needs their help. Set 18 years after the series ended, the team has to partner with their planet and the aliens to assure a new threat doesn’t destroy humanity and the alien race.
Starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, and Sam Rockwell, Galaxy Quest is a classic comedy sci-fi movie with an excellent cast. A bonus? The Office’s Rainn Wilson plays a role in Galaxy Quest, which is just one more well-known face added to the bunch.

Philip Kaufman, known for being the writer of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, directed the horror sci-fi movie remake, Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Set in San Francisco, CA, Donald Sutherland stars as Matthew Bennell, a local man who has begun realizing that something is going on with the locals.
A colony of creatures inhabits Earth, where they latch onto plant life and eventually, humans. When the plant pods enter are around humans, the alien life-forms take on a duplicated version of the humans nearby. As the invaders multiply in number, will Matthew and other survivors escape in time, or will they be snatched up too? Invasion of the Body Snatchers also stars Brooke Adams, Jeff Goldblum, and Veronica Cartwright and contains some of the franchise’s scariest scenes.
1 E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial: 7.8 (1982)
The highest-rated movie on the list is Steven Spielberg’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, starring Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore, and Peter Coyote. Written by Melissa Mathison, the movie centers on a young boy named Elliot (Henry Thomas), who finds a gentle alien far from home.
