Each Battlefield 2042 weapon that isn't available from the beginning has a specific level requirement. Marksman Rifles

• DM7: Unlocked by default

Sniper Rifles

• SWS-10: Unlocked by default
• DXR-1: Reach level 24
• NTW-50: Reach level 60

Secondary Weapons

• G57: Unlocked by default
• MP28: Reach level 17
• M44: Reach level 29

Utility Weapons

• MCS-880: Reach level 7
• GVT 45-70: Reach level 21
• 12M AUTO: Reach level 44

By the time players reach level 7, they will have at least one option from every single weapon category. So, it doesn't take all that long to be able to compete on a relatively fair playing field in multiplayer.
