Surviving The Forest requires players to have some of the best weapons. Here are five of the best weapons for players to use and where to find them to survive.

The Forest throws players into a world where survival isn't as easy as it seems. Players will need to build a home base, fight off zombies, collect items, build weapons, and improve on their weapons in order to survive any long amount of time in The Forest. However, there are a few items that players would be remiss from looking for.

Since survival is key, it's important to stock an arsenal to the teeth with the best weapons that are offered. However, there are a few weapons that are absolutely worth a player's time to hunt down or upgrade. Here are some of the best weapons to find, and how players can get their hands on them.

Finding the Right Weapons in The Forest

It's important that players have something on hand before facing any sort of zombie fight. Although it's recommended to hold off on fighting until players have better weapons, there are some options early in the game for players to try out.

One of the best weapons, particularly at the start of the game, is Molotov Cocktails. They're very easy to make, requiring only one bottle of alcohol and a rag, but their damage range is perfect for a fast getaway. Equip the Molotov Cocktail and toss it at an enemy to watch them burst into flames.

For players who want better one-on-one combat weapons, the Upgraded Spear is the perfect weapon for their arsenal. Players will first have to make a weak spear (which requires two sticks). Once players have a spear, use the weak spear and combine it with two pieces of cloth and three bones to create an upgraded spear. The Upgraded Spear is one of the better weapons to have because it can work well for both fighting and hunting (which will be essential for survival).

Although these two weapons are great weapons for players just beginning, there are a few weapons that players will need to venture out to find. These next three are perfect for players who want to do mass damage and are ready to progress the story a little further.

The next weapon to search for is the Modern Bow. Unlike the crafted bow, the Modern Bow has the ability to use every type of arrow in the game and can perform headshots. Players who prefer to play with ranged weapons will feel the difference between the two bows. When the developers introduced the Modern Bow, they had to nerf the crafted bow a bit to accommodate the new bow. So while the crafted bow shoots a bit weakly, the Modern Bow will pack a punch.

Finding the crafted bow means players will have to explore Cave 7 and make their way through the sinkhole caves to find this bow. However, before going to look for the Modern Bow, be sure to have the Rebreather in the player's inventory, it's the only way to get this weapon. You can find the squeeze-in entrance to Cave 7 after crossing the northern-most land bridge that connects the peninsula to the mountains. Head in and run past the zombies and Armsie to find a giant chasm. Head towards the bottom of the chasm and keep moving until there is a room with two Virginias, a handful of zombies, and some babies rolling around the floor. In this room is a pool of water that players can swim through to find the Modern Bow.

The final weapon players should look for is the Modern Axe. The Modern Axe is the best available axe for chopping down trees in the game. As a weapon, this axe deals five bars of damage. It moves slower than the plain axe but will knock zombies down more often. It also has amazing blocking abilities as well.

To find the Modern Axe, head to the Hanging Cave (or Cave 2) on the map. Players will need to enter this cave from the west entrance. Keep going until the player enters a room with two zombies. After eliminating them, there is an area in the room with water on the floor. To the right of the chair is a rope that leads down. Take this rope down. Once at the bottom. keep going straight until you find a room full of boxes. The Modern Axe is at the back of this room on top of some boxes, along with a few other items.
