FX greenlit Mayans M.C. season 4 on May 3, 2021. The series order was made official prior to the penultimate episode of season 3, which is arguably one of the best productions to date. Nick Grad, the President of Original Programming at FX, confirmed the Mayans M.C. renewal:

"In Season 4 we look forward to diving deeper into each character’s truths, exploring the danger of the combustible world they inhabit, and for each writer, cast member and crew to stake out our place as storytellers.”

Mayans M.C. Season 4 Story - What Could Happen?

The Mayans M.C. season 3 finale establishes the primary conflict for new episodes. The Yuma leader Canche survives EZ's assassination attempt in the show, and leads a rebellion at the Santo Padre headquarters in the final moments. Inside, Taza reveals details about his sexuality and club betrayal to Bishop, who must then make a fateful decision. A gunshot is heard, but it's probably from one of the Yuma club members who raided the Santo Padre chapter. In other subplots, Adelita will need to find out if her son is actually alive, while Galindo will need to plan his next moves after being left by his wife, Emily (Sarah Bolger). Mayans M.C. season 4 won't return in 2021. That's not a surprise, as new seasons typically release once per year. When the series was renewed in May 2021, FX confirmed that Mayans M.C. season 4 will premiere in 2022. It's possible it will air in early 2022, or latest by mid-spring.
