The Zodiac can tell people a lot about who they are. It can even show us what Spongebob Squarepants characters fans are most like!

Television characters come with their own sets of traits, strengths, weaknesses, attitudes, styles, interests, and dislikes, just as zodiac signs do. And some of the most fascinating and colorful characters can be found on animated TV shows like SpongeBob SquarePants. Zodiac signs as SpongeBob characters could work just as easily as it does for humans.

While everyone has a favorite and least favorite character from this beloved series, from Patrick to Plankton, who would everyone really be within this underwater story? For example, what is SpongeBob’s zodiac sign? Whether it's the sarcastic Squidward Tentacles or the confident Sandy Cheeks,  it's easy to connect to at least one character in this Nickelodeon series. 

12 Taurus - Mr. Krabs

A Taurus enters the world between April 20 and May 20 and can be quite a determined person. They also have the tendency to go beyond that and be quite stubborn. These types usually also enjoy the finer things in life, which may lead to them being materialistic. This is why Mr. Krabs is a Taurus.

While it's questionable if Mr. Krabs is a good boss or not, he cares about money and making a profit for a better life. He can be hard on his employees when they don't benefit him but he does have a soft side that peeks out from behind his selfish acts from time to time.

11 Gemini - Pearl Krabs

Geminis are born between May 21 and June 20 and, while they are usually bright and bubbly, they can also be impulsive, unreliable, and indecisive. By that description, it sounds a lot like Mr. Krabs' daughter, Pearl.

Pearl may not be in every episode, but when she is shown, her youthful and spunky attitude is put on display but this can sometimes lead to not-so-great situations for her and for those around her. While her dad, Mr. Krabs, doesn't always do the best things in the series, there's nothing he wouldn't do to keep Pearl the bubbly Gemini that she is.

10 Cancer - Mrs. Puff

Cancers are born between June 21 and July 22, and they are very caring individuals. At times, this care can run so deeply that they get overly emotional. Caring so much that emotions can run haywire sounds a lot like Bikini Bottom's driving instructor, Mrs. Puff.

Mrs. Puff is one of the most likable characters in the series because she's such a sweet-natured pufferfish. But whenever SpongeBob or Patrick are nearby, her sensitive side comes out too and she becomes overwhelmed by their chaotic energy. 

9 Leo - Sandy Cheeks

The sign for a Leo may be a lion, but for fans of this show, it may conjure up the image of a squirrel. Leos are born between July 23 and August 22, and they have fiery personalities.

Likewise, Sandy Cheeks is an energetic, passionate, and talented character who stands up for herself and for her friends, like a true-spirited Leo. She's naturally protective of her friends and surroundings, while also being independent. Whether it's swimming up to land to be at home in her native Texas or taking a rocket to the moon, Sandy is a confident Leo through and through.

8 Virgo - Sheldon James Plankton

Virgos are born between August 23 and September 22. These types are known for their strong work ethics but a downfall of theirs is that they have the ability to overthink things.

Plankton is a super-smart character who has one goal in life: to get his hands on the secret recipe of Mr. Krabs' Krabby Patty. Plankton features prominently in some of the best episodes in the series because of his ongoing battle with Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob, yet his plans never go the way he wants them to. Because of his failures, lots of thinking and rethinking and planning and replanning must happen on his part, which fits very well with the personality of a Virgo.

7 Libra - SpongeBob SquarePants

Libras are born between September 23 to October 22 and, with their symbol being a scale, they are all about peace, harmony, and fairness. It's all about balance. 

A life of balance sounds a lot like SpongeBob. He's one of the friendliest TV characters of all time, but there are times when those around him take advantage of his dim-witted personality and big heart, making fans feel sad for him. SpongeBob wants everyone to be as happy as he is, and he will go out of his way, every single time, to try and make that happen. Libras act similarly as they want peace and happiness around them.

6 Scorpio - The Flying Dutchman

Scorpios are born between October 23 and November 21, and they have bold personalities. They like things to go their way and can be sassy when they don't. That can cause Scorpios to be a bit stubborn and they sometimes have a dark and mysterious side to them.

The Flying Dutchman can be irritable and mischievous, which are two more traits often found in Scorpios. Plus, he is a ghostly being that collects souls, which goes well with the darkness and moodiness associated with this sign.

5 Sagittarius - Gary The Snail

A Sagittarius is born between November 22 and December 21. Some personality traits associated with this sign include being independent and honest, which can be both positive and negative things. Because of Gary the Snail's honesty with his owner SpongeBob, he's definitely a Sagittarius.

It's an ongoing gag that Gary is just a snail, but he's more than that. He's SpongeBob's best friend and pet. He's a guiding force in SpongeBob's life who helps him with all aspects of life, just like a Sagittarius would.

4 Capricorn - Patrick Star

Capricorns are born between December 22 and January 19 and are known for being super loyal to their loved ones, and that certainly describes Patrick Star. He is SpongeBob's best friend, neighbor, closest confidant, and has some of the funniest quotes in the series.

Without SpongeBob, Patrick would be lost, and vice versa. Situations may not always go smoothly for this starfish, but he is a true friend and a fan-favorite character. His loyalty to his best friend has proven itself time and time again. Even if it makes his life uncomfortable or hectic, there's nothing Patrick wouldn't do for someone in need, just like a Capricorn.

3 Aquarius - Mermaid Man

An Aquarius is born between January 20 and February 19 and can be described as ambitious. However, these types can become overly idealistic and even unpredictable too. This description seems to fit Mermaid Man well.

He is a superhero, but he is also an old man who forgets things quite a bit. He tries to be the hero that Bikini Bottom needs but tends to live in the past instead of accepting the present. And while an elderly man dressed as a mermaid living in a sea community doesn't entirely make sense, neither do half of the things in this beloved show.

2 Pisces - Squidward Tentacles

Pisces are born between February 20 and March 20 and are usually creative, as well as people who feel things deeply. Based on Squidward’s interest and his pristine house, it is clear that he appreciates the arts and the finer things in life, just like a Pisces.

Those in this Zodiac are also very honest with what they're thinking, just like Squidward. His refreshing honesty isn't always wanted in Bikini Bottom but his quotes are relatable and needed.

1 Aries - Karen Plankton

An Aries is born between March 21 and April 19 and tends to a have pleasant personality while also being able to tell it like it is. It's hard to be mad at an Aries because they speak from the heart and it tends to be justifiable. With these descriptors, an Aries sounds a lot like Karen Plankton.

Karen and Plankton were an odd couple (with Karen being a robot and all), but she holds Plankton accountable in an honest and loving way. Plankton oftentimes finds it hard to get mad at Karen too, the same going for the audience.
