The Dolittle movie features an extensive, all-star voice cast alongside its main human attraction, Robert Downey Jr., but where have you seen these actors before? Directed by Stephen Gaghan and inspired heavily by Hugh Lofting's 1922 children's book The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle, the live-action CGI hybrid is the first film Downey Jr. has put out since his heroic finale in last year's box office juggernaut Avengers: Endgame.

Emma Thompson as Polynesia
Two-time Academy Award winning actress Emma Thompson plays Polynesia, a wise, headstrong macaw who's also Doctor Dolittle's most trusted advisor. Most known for her leading roles in Sense and Sensibility, Howards End, and Saving Mr. Banks, she has also appeared in memorable supporting roles in Love, Actually and the Harry Potter franchise (as Sybil Trelawney). Most recently, she starred in and wrote the romantic comedy Last Christmas.
Rami Malek as Chee-Chee
Last year's Best Actor Oscar winner Rami Malek is following his lead role in Bohemian Rhapsody with Dolittle, where he's voicing the overanxious gorilla Chee-Chee. Outside of the Queen biopic, Malek is well-known for his lead role in the hypnotic crime series Mr. Robot. While he's also appeared in Papillon and Short Term 12, his next big screen role as the main villain in the upcoming Bond film No Time to Die may be his biggest onscreen performance yet.

Selena Gomez as Betsy the Giraffe: Betsy is a giraffe and one of Dolittle's friends. A well-known pop singer and actress, Selena Gomez played the main role in the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place. Her film career has included roles in Spring Breakers, Monte Carlo, and Hotel Transylvania.
Kumail Nanjiani as Plimpton the Ostrich: An ostrich who's well-meaning but has a tendency to get into feuds with the polar bear Yoshi. A stand-up comedian, Kumail Nanjiani's place in film skyrocketed when he wrote and starred in the autobiographical romantic comedy The Big Sick. Since then he's also starred in the Dave Bautista buddy cop movie Stuber, as well as the divisive sci-fi sequel Men in Black: International. He is known for starring in HBO's Silicon Valley.
John Cena as Yoshi the Polar Bear: Yoshi is a polar bear who argues with Plimpton. WWE Superstar John Cena has recently sprouted in Hollywood, having appeared in films such as Bumblebee, Trainwreck, Playing with Fire, Blockers, and Ferdinand.
