How To Get The Invisibility Spell in Skyrim
Daniel Foster The Invisibility Spell is a must-have spell for Skyrim fans roleplaying as a stealth-oriented class, but obtaining the rare tome is challenging.
Invisibility is an Expert-level Illusion spell in The Elder Scrolls V that can be useful for getting the Dragonborn out of a problematic situation. For instance, those roleplaying as a stealth-oriented class in Skyrim might need a "getaway plan" if their adversaries find them out, and while the save-load technique is practical, it can often break the immersion. Therefore, having Invisibility as a potential solution can become a game-breaker for Skyrim thieves, assassins, or rogue mage hybrids.
However, Invisibility's drawback is that it requires quite a large pool of Magicka to be cast. With a Magicka Cost of 334, Elder Scrolls fans will need to have sufficiently leveled their arcane abilities before attempting to use the Invisibility spell in Skyrim. On the other hand, races such as the Altmer are gifted with unique passives, giving them an easier time using such Expert-level spells. Other Skyrim races can still compensate for these inadequacies by using enchanted apparel, such as Robes of Illusion or Magicka-boosting jewelry.
To obtain the Invisibility spell in Skyrim, players will need to stumble upon the tome randomly in loot containers or at a shopkeeper, such as Court Wizards, with magic-related items. However, there is one guaranteed way of acquiring the spell in The Elder Scrolls V. Head to the College of Winterhold located to the north of the city of Winterhold. Pass Faralda's "demonstration test" at the entrance to gain access to the rest of the college. Within the Hall of Attainment, players can encounter Drevis Neloren, an instructor in the school of Illusion. He will have the rare Invisibility spellbook for sale in his inventory at a relatively high yet affordable price.
Obtaining the Invisibility Spell in Skyrim
Yet, there is one heavy requirement before Drevis Neloren will possess Invisibility; the Dragonborn must first attain Level 75 in Illusion before the tome becomes available. Illusion is a challenging Skill to level in, but there are a few ways Skyrim fans can efficiently progress its skill tree.
First, the Adept spell Rally can be endlessly cast on any friendly NPC without the worry of them becoming hostile. Drevis Neloren will often have this spell, and Sybille Stentor at Solitude's Blue Palace will also have it for sale. Dual-wielding Rout and Pacify and casting them on the same follower is also a great way to "spam-level" Illusion. However, players should be careful not to hit any bystanders or passersby as it might trigger a Hold Bounty. Once the Dragonborn has adequately leveled their Illusion Skill, they can check with Drevis for obtaining the Invisibility spell. In the rare case he doesn't have the Skyrim Expert spellbook, use "wait" for 48 in-game hours for him to refresh his stock.
