Huge Frozen 2 Theory Reveals Elsa's Secret Power
Rachel Hickman A Frozen 2 theory reveals Elsa may have a secret power, which would mean she can influence much more than ice, and this could mean a lot for Frozen 3.
A huge Frozen II theory suggests Elsa has a secret power, and it makes her much more powerful than she already is. As seen in Disney's Frozen movies, Elsa's powers cover quite a repertoire, from controlling ice to creating life from it, as in the case of the sentient snowman Olaf. In the original Frozen, when Elsa finally accepts her powers, the audience sees her grow stronger with the control of her abilities, and in Frozen II, she is exploring new levels of her powers that she has never experienced before.
Frozen II focuses more on the origin of Elsa’s powers and the history of her parents, people, and magic. She follows a call that only she can hear and ends up on a quest to follow it with her sister Anna and their friends Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven. Along the journey, Olaf tells them that water has memory, this becomes a key part of Elsa discovering her past and the origin of her powers. Throughout the movie, Elsa uses her ice powers to evoke memories from the water, allowing her to see her own and her parent’s pasts and eventually learn that she is the fifth spirit of the Enchanted Forest.According to a new theory (via Reddit), in addition to accessing these memories, Elsa can influence them too, as she has time powers. This theory is based on the idea that the voice Elsa follows is her own. In Frozen II, she sees a series of memories that are not her own, including the moment when Hans met Anna. Elsa destroys this memory, and according to the theory, this act coincides with how Hans and Anna almost fall into the water in their actual meet-cute moment in Frozen. This suggests that Elsa can manipulate past events from that section of the cave, but not change time.
The theory claims that Elsa riding back to the cave will lead to the events of Frozen 3, in which she will save her parents using the cave and her time powers. If this is possible, then it could mean the drastic events of Elsa’s life leading her to regain control of her powers would have never happened. Being able to erase everything would massively complicate the story and go against the morals of the Frozen franchise, which teaches audiences to embrace flaws and let bad memories aid in personal growth.
Besides, what really happens to Elsa when she freezes in Frozen II is that she loses control of her powers. The action is similar to her freezing Anna in the first Frozen, only this time the trauma she is going through causes her to freeze herself. Finally, Disney has confirmed the voice Elsa follows in Frozen II actually belongs to her mother, Iduna, and unfortunately, the theory is based on the voice being Elsa’s own. Therefore, Elsa can connect to the memories held in the water due to her ice powers, but she is not able to manipulate or change them with any time powers.
