Vanessa Nelson and Tres Russell appeared on Married At First Sight season 3, and here's everything the couple has been up to since their reality TV debut in 2015. Vanessa and Tres were two of the most popular stars on season 3 and fans hoped the pair would make it work long after cameras stopped rolling. From Decision Day to the modern-day, here's what Vanessa and Tres have done living life post-Married At First Sight.
When Vanessa and Tres first got married on MAFS, their romance was brimming with potential. Overall, the fans were drawn to Vanessa and Tres because of their outstanding chemistry. When audiences first met the pair five and a half years ago, Vanessa was a 26-year-old event manager, whereas Tres was a 27-year old luxury car salesman. The two hit it off right away, but Vanessa started to grow cautious of Tres when she discovered he signed up for Married At First Sight on a whim. Vanessa was worried that she was part of a marriage that her husband wasn't taking very seriously. The conflict between the newlyweds escalated as it became clear Vanessa and Tres' personalities conflicted. Where Tres was a party-loving night owl, Vanessa was looking to settle down. Vanessa felt like Tres prioritized partying before her. Ultimately, Vanessa and Tres ended up getting divorced after Married At First Sight.
Although their love life was headed in a tragic direction, both Tres Russell and Vanessa Nelson demonstrated that they were committed to making their marriage last on Married At First Sight. Despite Vanessa's hesitations and Tres' partying habits, they opted to stay together on Decision Day. Unfortunately, however, Vanessa and Tres confirmed their divorce on the season 3 reunion, Married At First Sight: Six Months Later. Vanessa's worst fears about her marriage came true as Tres revealed that his feelings for his wife had diminished in the months following their marriage. According to Us Weekly, Tres and Vanessa put up a fight before calling it quits. Tres shared, "We tried counseling, and I was talking to either one of the experts, the producers, my family, her mom, or someone that could lend us assistance.”
Vanessa didn't stay away from love or reality TV for too long as she returned in Married At First Sight: Second Chances in 2017. On Second Chances, Vanessa got engaged to Andre Forbes. Regrettably, Vanessa and Andre's marriage met the same fate as her first. As for Tres, he made an appearance on Married At First Sight: Where Are They Now in 2020. Tres shared that he was in a "complicated" relationship, but didn't divulge any more details on his new romance since then. Now, Vanessa can be found on Instagram at @vanessanelson_mafs where she has 19,700 followers and runs her candle business, SoulWick. Tres is private on Instagram, but he is active on Twitter. According to his bio, Tres resides in Louisville where he works as the finance director of a car dealership. As Married At First Sight season 13 approaches, season 2 stars Vanessa and Tres remain fan-favorites.
Vanessa and Tres might not have fallen in love with each other, but they were successful in getting fans to fall for them. While audiences were sad to see them split, both Vanessa and Tres lead rich lives today. Even though Vanesa and Tres did not get their happy ever after Married At First Sight, they haven't given up on themselves.
